Seambiotic has assembled an exclusive senior team of professionals with extensive experience and success in the use and processes of microalgae cultivation. Indeed, a number of key Company individuals are world renowned experts in this industry. The Company has created a dynamic business development and management team, key managing entities and advisory board members. 

 

Noam Menczel- Chief Executive Officer
Noam joined Seambiotic in 2007, initially as Director, Business Development and Investor Relations and then in 2010 he became the Chief Executive Officer. Noam’s career includes over 30 years in Finance, Commerce and Administration of multinational companies. From 2000 to 2006 Noam was the CFO and Vice President of Finance & Administration of Lenslet Ltd. Prior to Lenslet, Noam was CFO and the Director of Operations at AbirNet Ltd. Noam also held a position at Memco Ltd. which he helped in its listing on NASDAQ and in its subsequent sale to CA. Further back, Noam held finance positions in Gottex Industries & Merit Industries in the U.S.A. & Koor Industries companies in Israel.  Noam holds a degree in accounting and finance from Tel-Aviv University. 

 

 

Amnon Bechar- Chief Operating Officer
Amnon is one of Seambiotic founders and an experienced entrepreneur in the field of derma-cosmetics and biotechnology. Amnon acted as Director of Marketing and Business Development in various companies in the area, including a biotechnology company which cultivated organisms as a medical food additive where he was involved from concept to NASDAQ IPO. Amnon has served as Seambiotic CEO until July 2009. Amnon is a Hebrew University graduate, majoring in Pharmacology. 


 

Herman Weiss- Chief Technology Officer
He
rman is one of Seambiotic founders and an experienced entrepreneur in the field of derma-cosmetics and biotechnology
Herman held the position of Scientific Director in a number of projects including the cultivation of e.coli bacterium as a medical food additive, development of a dermatological range of products for various skin ailments and R&D in the field of diabetes. Herman currently functions as the Coordinator of Scientific activity for Seambiotic. Herman is Hebrew University graduate, majoring in Pharmacology. 

 

 

Prof. Ami Ben-Amotz -Chief Scientific Adviser
Ami is a world renowned expert in the area of marine-algae research, with a PhD from the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel.  Ami has 30 years of experience in the field, He is a regular contributor to conferences and symposia in the field of marine-algae research and presently advises the U.S. Department of Agriculture. In addition, Ami holds the position of Scientific Director of the Dunaliella plant NBT, EilatIsrael

Etai Ivery- Site Project Manager
Since 2006, Etai has acted as Site Manager for the company’s pilot site in Ashkelon. Prior to joining Seambiotic, Etai held the position of head technician in the department of saltwater fish reproduction at the Israel Oceanographic and Limnological Research institute (IOLR) where he worked for seven years. Prior to that, Etai spent ten years as the General Operations Manager at "SeaOr Marine" Enterprises Ltd. Among his duties he planned and established an ecological farm of 2 hectares, using an environmental friendly ecological combined system and was its manager for 6 years.

 

 

Iris Smirra- Director, R&D
Iris has recently joined Seambiotic team as Director, R&D of the company. From 1999 to 2010, Iris worked for ‘Zeraim Gedera', an international biotechnology company acquired by Syngenta, in various managerial positions, including Products Department Manager promoting new products from R&D to market and Plant Manager, responsible for all stages from production and processing until shipping of final product to customers. Iris received a M.Sc. in Biotechnology and a Bs.c in Agricultural Sciences from the Faculty of Agriculture of the Hebrew University, in Rehovot, Israel.

Moshe Cohen- Head Biologist
Moshe joined Seambiotic in 2006. Moshe is managing and performing microalgae cultivation indoor and outdoor. Conducting analytical methods concerning microalgae parameters, research planning and software assimilation. Moshe received a M.Sc. in Life Sciences from Ben Gurion University, Be'er Sheva, Israel.

 

 

Merav Hadari, Biologist
Merav
has a B.Sc. in Marine Sciences from the Ruppin Academic Center in Michmoret & M.Sc. in Enviromental Sciences from the Life Sciences Faculty, The Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
